New tattoo!!

I've been wanting this forever. There are a few others I want to get, but, good tattoos are expensive and well, I don't love pain. I do however, LOVE my new tattoo! What is it? Well, I have been doing yoga for the past 8 years. It's the one thing of exercise I adore and do every chance I can. I am also a convert to Buddhist principles (notice I don't call myself one, that would be too conformist - I can see the eye rolling, so stop it!). This is the symbol for OM, or basically for me, a reminder to breathe and live in the moment. It's read left to right when I am looking down at my own arm. It's easily covered by my watch as my job typically frowns on visible tattoos/piercings.
And for those who doubted my freakishly small hands, these are my hands in my three year olds. He can reach the middle of my fingers when he relaxes his hand enough. And, I just wanted a reason to hold his hands.

I left Maya's Mom

In case anyone doesn't know, they are closing it anyway and transferring everything to Baby Center. Now this may mean nothing to some, but to most, you can understand why I chose not to transfer my account. I haven't been active since most of you left any way. I belong to Baby Center and have since I was trying to conceive, but I never joined for social reason and find it to be too huge and, honestly, just not as good. I kept waiting for Maya's Mom to resemble the site I once loved, and it never did, so, I give up (with or without choice). I did just transfer all of my old journals over to blog entries though, so if you noticed a huge flurry of activity... I was not in a particularly chatty/writing mood, I just didn't want to lose any of my past entries. I never saved a lot of it anywhere else and I don't want to lose the memories. My memory is swiss cheese, and hey, ain't that what blogs are for.

My Kiddisms

"Is that mommy? It is!" pointing at Tina Fey. Um, thanks kiddo. I think.

He called me his best friend

OK, I know this may end tomorrow, but my little man told his daddy today that I was his best friend. Awwwwweeee! He so has my heart by it's strings, it's not even funny.

I love you too, Super Kitty (with pimple popping power!).

Quirky Meme

I got tagged by Cathy and Lisa to do this meme. I am feeling particularly brain dead, so not sure how interesting these will be, and I am going to be nice and ignore the last two rules (and refer to #1). I don't know how to link to Cathy and Lisa, so if anyone wants to tell me, feel free, otherwise, sorry...

The Rules
* Link to the person who tagged you.
* Mention the rules.
* Tell six quirky yet boring, unspectacular details about yourself.
* Tag six other bloggers by linking to them.
* Go to each person’s blog and leave a comment to let them know that they’ve been tagged.

My Quirks:

1. I hate following rules and orders, so if you want me to do something, best phrase it in a way that doesn't sound like an order or I will be outright defiant and ignore your request. Partially this is because I am EXTREMELY lazy, but the other part is I just hate being told what to do. I think it's residual unresolved adolescent issues. But I am too lazy to care.

2. I provide therapy for others but detest my own sessions. Introspection sucks and I hate having to do it. Kindly do not tell my clients this.

3. I was so lazy after Ryan was born that although I could have been "grandfathered" in with a clinical license in New York after the laws changed, I didn't want to do the paperwork. So now I have/had to take an additional class and take a 4 hour exam (similar to the Bar exam), in addition to all the paperwork and paying for two licenses, the current and the new one. This has taken me three years to complete and I am still not done.

4. I have severe insomnia, sleep with two blankies (stolen from Ryan's, sorry kiddo) and, embarrassingly enough, suck my thumb. All must be in place for me to be able to sleep. Shut it!

5. I am double jointed pretty much everywhere and freak people out with how far I can bend my fingers back (past my wrists when I am properly stretched).

6. I have freakishly small hands. I never noticed this until a friend was kind enough to point it out, but now it freaks me out 'cause they don't match the rest of me. My hands would fit a short person, but I'm 5'8".

Maybe not all that interesting, but it's Sunday and I've had a relaxing weekend and am already ready to go bed. It's 7. I'm getting old. And cranky. My god, I'm Estele Getty from Golden Girls!
