Do I eat breakfast?

Yes, my breakfast usually means a cup of coffee and toast. I keep cereal bars in my car for really bad mornings when I can't get my butt out of bed. And on the worst days, I stop at Burger King and get a breakfast (I get an egg and cheese biscuit for all of those who think I cheat constantly on the veggie thing - Joss), and the go thru the drive thru at Starbuck's and get myself a latte. Breakfast for me mostly means caffeine and some form of carb to fill my stomach.

The best breakfast of the week though is the one on Sunday morning where all three of us hop in the car, drive into the city, and eat at the Highland Park Diner. They do these amazing! breakfast specials every Sunday and they are phenominal. It's the only time we protect throughout the week as being exclusively ours. We are there so often they know us by name and sneak us in early when they can (there is always a wait). They also know our drink orders and bring them as we are sitting down. Gotta love it!

Why I should stop pretending I can live without coffee

This morning, I slept in, my only day off this week, and woke up thinking, 'damn Starbuck's sounds awesome right now.' But, I have been trying to cut back on my coffee usage for months. I know I was becoming addicted, and part of quitting means not drinking it on days that I do not work.

So, this AM I instead decided to try and make some tea, or more accurately, a chai latte. Can't be that hard right? So I slip a mug of milk in the microwave for three minutes. Now, I know what you are thinking, bad idea right? Well, yes, yes it was. It curdled and stuck to the side of the cup. OK, gross, but I really wanted the latte.

So, I try again, only putting the milk in for a minute this time, figuring maybe if I stir it I can prevent it from curdling. Well, no. See, it doesn't work that way. I again got a curdled nasty mess. I rinse the cup again and think, maybe I should stick to just plain old tea.

So I pour some water in the coffee pot to warm it up, which I do all the time. It percolates and I pour it into my cup, so looking forward to the tea at this point I can taste it. What do I get? Little floating milky threads everywhere. EEWWWW! Undrinkable.

So this time I get a new mug. And I brew plain water. And I "enjoy" my plain tea. :( After ripping off the string thingy on the last bag of tea, so I can't fish it out.

Maybe Starbucks was a better idea? Who says I shouldn't drink coffee anyway? Maybe I should have some coffee first before attempting to make more tea?

Still recovering

As you can see by all my lovely Vegas friends, we all had a ball, but, being the last to leave sucked! Big time! I admit it, I bawled like a baby. I did not really expect to fall so instantly in love with the whole lot of them. Every woman there was exactly as I expected only better. I learned things about each of them I never knew and got to hug each and every one of them (and sleep with Homey - I so Lucky!).

I need some sleep

Ryan was up at 6 this morning. I didn't go to bed til 1. He is normally a great sleeper. Goes to bed at 8-8:30p, up around 9p. Entertains himself for a while if he gets up earlier. But today... When I went in to check on him, because he was much louder than usual, he was naked in his bed. He had taken his pajamas off and his diaper, soaked, lay next to him. I was exhausted, or this would have been funny.

Now, I'm just trying to get through my day, and work seems to be moving slower that I even thought possible.
